Snow
See that lump in the snow? Sorry it's so grainy, the photo was taken with my phone and it's rather dark out. You might wonder what that lump is. Or rather, was. It's the marker in the back that we use to keep track of the snow depth. The marker is 8 feet high. Guess it's time to attach the next section! :)

Cascadia Snowscape

I added some embroidery stitches in silver and blue on a few of the interior snowflakes. The border is quilted in blue, following the lines of the trees (the ones that aren't silver).
There are a few beads and some silver spacers as well that can be seen in the detail pic.
The curved piecing technique is the same as I used on Huckleberry Swirl recently, and is from the book Vivacious Curvy Quilts by Dianne Hire.

Spring Snow
My neighbor took this picture last month of his vehicle. I couldn't even tell you what kind it is, LOL. Typical spring snowstorm!

Waiting for it to Snow
This time of year almost all Pass residents begin to wonder "when will the snow fly?" It's a waiting and guessing game. Some folks like Jack at Hyak.net even give out prizes for guessing correctly.
The weather predictions around here aren't exactly known for their accuracy, but late next week the snow level is reportedly going to dip down to around 4000 feet. We're at about 2800 here at Cascadia (our home's nickname) and the Snoqualmie Summit 2 miles west of here is 3000 give or take a few feet. Hopefully this means that we should be able to view a little snow across on the ridge inside of a week, woot! The photo is representative of what the ridge looks like after a dusting.
